First with the cool news. I have to say, I have a few writer friends who are totally and incredibly talented - and they're IN PRINT!!! If only I, too, could have a book in print! The cool thing is, they're coming out soon. So check out Eric Wilson, and Xanga's very own JEFF MARKOWITZ.
In Its Beginning to Look a Lot Like Murder, we once again visit Cassie O'Malley, a NJian who lives near the pine barrens and writes for a tabloid. Now, I gotta tell you guys, I've been waiting forever for this book to come out, so this is a little bit like my own slice of Christmas cheer. Jeff is an amazing person and he's been an amazing resource to me. I am so incredibly glad I found him on Xanga. This is a continuation of the other books he already has in print - A Minor Case of Murder & Who is Killing Doah's Deer.

Also coming out, ERIC WILSON's next book in the Jerusalem Undead trillogy, Haunt of the Jackals. This is the sequel to Field of Blood, which came out last year. (Oh, he also did the novelization for a little something called Fireproof.)--------------------------------
So, there you have it. My friends are cooler than I am.
As for me, I don't even know where to begin.
Life's been... life. I met a guy at my writer's group and I'm now going through all the motions of playing it cool and just hanging out. Dating is such a pain in the ass. I mean, one minute, we're having fun, the next minute, I'm being kicked to the curb. And, yes, I know that I don't want to be a slut and sleep with him five minutes into the relationship, but it does toy with me a little. I'm bad at dating. Seriously. I haven't had a real date since my ex left 3 yrs ago. And that was a bad situation all around. So there's a serious mix of emotion that comes from having to date and do things the right way. I've done things wrong in the past and they always lead to Epic Fail. I don't want to fail anymore. I want to actually have a life like somebody my age is supposed to have.
On the plus side, the temperature in the house did NOT reach 90+ degrees today. And, while I still want to kick Robert's ass for not coming and fixing the heat/AC like he said he would back in APRIL, it's nice to not be sweating in places that shouldn't sweat. You can only use so many trays of ice per day before it's rediculous.
In cuter news, there's a 8-10 week kitten in the yard whom I've named Alice. Please, somebody, do you remember the pet food commercial from years and years ago where the woman brings Alice home and the other cats are mad??? Anyway, the name was more because she dissapeared like she was falling down a rabbit hole (or so I keep telling my self), but the name did come to mind because of the commercial, and it so fits her. I want this little kitten in my house so incredibly bad. It had better come in soon, and it had better not be a boy.
Eldora was dissapointing. Got there Wed, met some guys, partied for a while, FROZE MY ASS OFF - seriously, it was 30 degrees each night I camped out - and the Prelude was rained out, so I didn't get to see that. On the plus side, Tony Stewart decided to race the Dream, and he had the pole. Didn't win, though, which was dissapointing. He drives a late model like he's making love to it. It was beautiful and poetic and description fails to do it any justice.
Well, thats about it. Just wanted to update.

Thanks.
I got a laugh out of "It better come in soon. It had better not be a boy." but is that because you'd cring about naming a boy Alice- or like I recalled so vividly with ever so many cats- I hate the spraying that is just a matter of time with 50% of them no matter how loving or firm you are with them. if its a question of the former, you can still play johnny cash's a boy named sue when you find out- in fact I insist....if you'll listen to strange ol' me.
@Uncious - I don't like boy animals. At least men put pants on. I don't want to see puppy privates dangling. That's just eeew... And in the case of the cat, yes, the spraying has a whole lot to do with that. At least with a girl, getting her fixed is optional. But with a boy... And if it were a boy, his name would just have to be Alec or Alex...
@doahsdeer - Always Always Always happy to help a fellow writer. Espeically one with an agent and stuff.
Dating is...annoying. Honestly, I've never been a fan of it, either. Guys can be so terribly weird and inconsistent. If you ever need to talk, or vent, message me. I'm generally good at deciphering the oddities of other people's romantic interests. My own? Not so much.
Congrats on your online friends' published book... Oh! I can imagine the high glee.
I'm also a struggling writer... I have another blog where I put my writings... how I wish a published writer can critique it. There isn't much as of now though... but am letting my words flow...
I don't put it here coz this blog kind of acts like my Pandora's Box... mind control thing
I also agree with you on the dating comment... I've been single much longer (5 years!!!!)... it's actually been so long I feel like I've missed a lot... but as they said... to get that 1 true person you gotta meet a lot of acquaintances... so am putting myself out there again... hehehe
Take care!!
@BigSweetKiss - Yes, published books are always exciting. The first time I met Eric Wilson, he was almost hopping with excitement as he told us he hit the NYT bestseller list.. It was so cute.
